What is the Office Of Inspector General?

The OIG is a watchdog agency for the WAX network staffed by a committee of 3 elected inspector generals (IGs) who publish a rating report ranking the Guilds on a monthly basis.

Among the responsibilities of the OIG is overseeing and ensuring the continued evolution of the evaluations framework to improve Guild rating accuracy, identify and remove operational inefficiencies, and promote healthy competition among Guilds.

Questions / Answers

Q1) Why do you feel your a great candidate for OIG? How does your past experience align with your candidacy for OIG?

A1) As a developer who wanted to determine himself and his way of working early on, I was lucky enough to experience the definition, implementation and reflection of IT projects and business processes with customers of various sizes.Often, I learned that the end user accounts for every bad management decision.
I want to help a board of great OIGs with my practical skills to reduce the friction between participants of a blockchain and it’s government and vice versa.

Q2) What type of initiatives do you believe you could contribute to the OIG?

A2) Making the governance processes more publicly accessible and allow the participant to influence the future of wax through educating the participants. Voting should be rewarded and as the “King of NFTs” we should surely come up with something nice.Furthermore, the on-ramp for developers and artists should be further expanded, for which I would like to use my practical strengths in front-end and UX to create tools and frameworks and documentation from the maker perspective.I am sure there will be more to tackle, but reducing the friction for new participants comes from a personal observation as someone who maintains, informs and nurtures a steadily growing German community.

Q3) How would you rate the importance of The OIG in terms of overall effectiveness for the Wax blockchain to achieve its mission statement?

A3) OIGs and BPs(Guilds) have worked together to develop a well functioning blockchain and political system. The growth and mass adoption to date is due to many innovative developers and thinkers. The challenge now is not to tire of developing the environment and to continue to work on solving the following critical issues such as:

  • How are decisions made and carried out.
  • How is decision making changed over time.
  • How is our governance affecting decision making.

Q4) What excites you about Wax in comparison to other blockchain networks?

A4) User numbers on wax are exploding right now, and yet the blockchain is working great and has mostly been able to withstand the biggest rushes so far — and if you played Axies on Eth at the beginning you can relate.
From a developer and artist perspective, services and tools such as Atomichub/Atomicassets, nfthive, dfuse, SimpleAssets/Simplemarket, Neftyblocks, blenderizr, and countless others contribute greatly to the ease with which visions can be developed and marketed and have given wax it’s current value.
Wax has some of the smartest devs and innovators and the amount of support you can get out of the dev community is met by no other NFT-chain yet. Personally the involvement in wax governance has been a personal highlight!

Q5) If you are elected to OIG where would you put the majority of your expertise in order to support guilds on Wax?

A5) Extending the bridge from community to chain. In any technical or governmental aspect. product and eco-system development involves some aspects of my profession so far and I could help guilds with expanding their user awareness. In my opinion the eco-system and product ratings for guild should be more important and therefore reward adding more value to the chain as whole.

Q6) What’s your favorite game on Wax?

A6) Hard to say, many great dApps out there, so I’ll name a few. Some of my favourite concepts are metalwargame, novarallywax and alien.worlds. Tbh I don’t like gambling — if a game can be beaten through stochastics however it draws my attention!

Q7) How would you rate the efficiency of governance on Wax, and are there way you can see to better organize processes of OIG responsibilities?

A7) Difficult questions to answer as a newcomer, but talking to the other and past OIGs and several product owners helped me a lot to identify some limitations of political frameworks. I am sure smart minds are involved in our governance and that the responsibilities not only lies on the OIGs but the BPs also. Communication I believe is a key element to any consensus-mechanism.
